WHY HI FIVE FOR LIFE?
The WHY behind developing Hi Five For Life is simple. We are parents. We are teachers. And we are shocked by the statistics reporting the bleak future for the next generation.
Our children's future is threatened by the complex global epidemic of chronic disease.
Lifestyle caused disease is now the single biggest threat to global economic development. - World Economic Forum.
Without action, the world risks failing to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement, and today’s children will inherit a planet that has been severely degraded and where much of the population will increasingly suffer from malnutrition and preventable disease. - EAT Lancet Commission.
We could go on sharing a stream of negative facts, but instead believe there's a need to shift to a more positive approach. Hi Five For Life has been developed by drawing on research and evidence based practice to enable kids to help themselves via our 5 Seeds. By encouraging kids to understand the power in making their own lifestyle choices, we know we can prevent illnesses—both mental and physical.

Our mission is to guide students to discover and define their own answers around wellness by sharing 5 simple life skills:
Sleep Better, Move More, Eat Smarter, Relax & Recharge, Share Love&Gratitude.
By incorporating the practice of mindfulness and writing, students will put their thoughts to paper which will take them on a journey of self-discovery.
As a result of our programming, our students feel empowered to develop their own healthy habits. They feel fuelled for further exploration and become active participants in their own positive behaviour loop. The more they feel great, the more they want to feel great. Our programs are developed with school settings in mind, but the remarkable learning seeps into all areas of their life.

In a world where kids are observed (ok, helicoptered), monitored and worried about, we understand the best way to impact growing spirits is to support them to hop into the driver's seat of their own life. To support this jump, Hi Five For Life plants inspirational seeds for life impact. Our 5 Seeds are powerful programming sparks designed to weave into kids every day life. We believe when children are supported on all fronts to develop healthy life-long habits like: rest, mindfulness, movement, community and healthy eating, not only are we enabling a resilient and empowered generation of kids but families, communities are stronger societies.
